Nevermind Your Neighbors (a short story - ...work in progress)

"You know that when you move, you're actually moving twice!", Sarah remarked as she stooped down to lift one end of the sofa.
"I know I've heard that somewhere before", Jannie chuckled as she too stooped down, to lift the opposite end of the sofa.
"Well it's true ya know. Cause first you...", pausing to take a much needed breath, Sarah continued. "...have to pack up all your stuff, clean and move out. Then you have to turn around and move in, clean and unpack all of your stuff." Sarah said matter-of-factly while looking over her shoulder and carefully walking backwards towards the front door and out to the moving van.

Thank goodness the weather started to calm by now for their move across town. Earlier in the day, the wind was howling like a banshee causing the taller and fuller trees to bend in thee most peculiar manners. Had one been listening to movements from Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers", The Nutcracker Suite Op. 71a , they'd have been enthralled by the woody perennial performance to go along with it.

...to be continued...
